[FreshersGuide]How To Calculate Your Grade Point(G.P) in Esut
As a student of ESUT, you must have heard about grade point (G.P) especially as a way of knowing and monitoring your academic performance after each semester and yearly.
But apart from this, what else do you know about grade point (G.P)?
Have you thought about how to calculate it? And even if you have thought about how to calculate yours, how sure are you that you know how to calculate it?
You are not sure right.
That is why in today’s article am going to be teaching you how to calculate your cumulative grade point (G.P) accurately to avoid errors
And am going to be doing that with demonstrations in pictures because you and I know that pictures are louder and understandable in teaching more than written words.
So without wasting much of your time Lets’ get started
How to Calculate your G.P in ESUT and Other Universities
For example:
Percentage Scores | Letter Grades | Points | Rating/Remark |
70 – 100 | A | 5 | Excellent |
60 – 69 | B | 4 | Very Good |
50 – 59 | C | 3 | Good |
45 – 49 | D | 2 | Pass |
0 – 44 | F | 0 | Fail |
So for you to calculate your Grade point (G.P) you need to know that the A, B, C, D and F grade is equal to 5, 4, 3, 2 and 0 points, when it comes to calculation of G.P.
And also each course always comes with what is widely known as credit unit or credit load which comes in numbers (from 2 and above).
Meanwhile lets’ also assume that the credit units for all the courses you took in that particular semester of which you have seen the results is three(3).
Now that you have known your grade and your credit unit, here is how you are going to calculate it.
- First multiply each grade with the credit unit.
- Secondly add all of the numbers you’ve got from the multiplication you did in the first
- Thirdly, add the entire credit unit for all the courses together
- Finally divide what you got from the second step with what you got in the third (second/third).
So after doing the final division in the last one, what you get is what will be your G.P for the semester.
NOTE; this is how you are meant to be calculating your G.P every semester
So for you to know your cumulative grade point average CGPA for a particular academic year all you need to do
After calculating the first and second semester G.P, all you need to do is add them together and divide them into two…
