COVID-19: ESUT produces hand sanitizer
Enugu state University of Science and Technology has achieved a great feat in the ongoing fight to contain the spread of the deadly pandemic which has claimed so many lives.
The vice chancellor of ESUTH Professor Luke Okechukwu Anike has said that higher institutions in the world play a huge role in the lives of members of the community where such institution situate.
Addressing journalists who came to witness the process of producing hand sanitizers by the Enugu state university of science and Trchnology at their Agbani permanent site, Professor Anike said that the recent pandemic ravaging the world now calls for the important role of the university in the local Enviroment
The Don expressed satisfaction with the quality of the sanitizers being produced by the science faculty of the university to help stem the tide of the spread of the dangerous pandemic known as covid-19 which has ravaged the world especially the developed nations.
Professor Anike said that the university Authourity had sourced for fund internally to start the production of the sanitizers to be in line with the standard world practices as it concerns research as the key role of educational institutions especially in an emergency situation like the one bedevil g the world now
He called on the state and federal government to provide research funds for the university whom he described as having the world capacity to be on equal measure with her counterparts all over the world.
The journalists were shown some bottles of different sizes and contents adding that the little quantity produced by the university would be shared among student upon resumption from the forced break
